Why EU Cloud
Ontdek wat dit platform voor uw organisatie kan betekenen.
Drastic Cost Reduction
AWS and Azure are 5 to 10× more expensive than European alternatives for comparable workloads. No surprises per CPU-hour or GB egress.
EU Data Residency
Your data stays within the EU at European providers. No third-country transfers, no Schrems-II risk.
No US CLOUD Act
US hyperscalers fall under the US CLOUD Act, they must hand over data on request from US authorities, even in EU regions. European providers don't.
NIS2, DORA & Data Act
EU providers directly support compliance with NIS2 (cybersecurity), DORA (financial sector) and the EU Data Act (portability).
No Egress Shock
Hetzner includes 20 TB bandwidth with every server; additional traffic costs €1/TB. AWS charges roughly €82/TB. Up to 90× difference.
Guided Migration
We advise, design and execute the migration. From inventory to cutover, with minimal downtime.
Does this sound familiar?
Over the years you migrated workloads to AWS, Azure or Google Cloud. At the time it seemed the right choice, scalable, flexible, modern services. But now you watch with a mild sense of helplessness as the monthly bill keeps climbing. Every byte of traffic costs money. Every API call, every snapshot, every managed service is billed separately. Reserved Instances require multi-year commitments. And if you want to move your data out, you’re locked in by egress costs that eat up any savings in a single month.
There is an alternative: European cloud providers only, with transparent and predictable pricing. Often 50-80% cheaper than your current hyperscaler bill.
Which providers?
- OVHcloud: broad portfolio: VMs, bare metal, managed PostgreSQL/MySQL, S3-compatible object storage, managed Kubernetes
- Hetzner: best price/performance for compute, 20 TB bandwidth included per server
- Scaleway: strong on serverless, managed databases and IoT
- IONOS & Leaseweb: for German/Dutch compliance requirements and local datacenter presence
Digital Sovereignty & Compliance
- GDPR: data stays within the EU, no third-country transfers needed
- NIS2: mandatory since October 2024 for essential/important entities: supply chain security including your cloud provider
- DORA: mandatory since January 2025 for the financial sector: ICT risk management and exit strategies
- EU Data Act: in effect since September 2025: right to data portability and cloud switching without lock-in costs
- US CLOUD Act: not applicable with EU providers: your data falls outside US jurisdiction
How We Migrate
- Inventory & TCO analysis: which workloads, what does it cost now, what will you save?
- Design: architecture at the chosen EU provider, including network, storage, backup and DR
- Migration: phased, with parallel runs where possible to minimize risk
- Optional managed service: we continue to manage, or you take over
